2022 war ich zum zweiten Mal für das Layout des Jahresmagazins »Spiel und Bühne« verantwortlich. Bei einigen Artikeln hatte ich die Möglichkeit, mit den Fotografinnen Asli Özdemir und China Hopson zusammenzuarbeiten.
Dementsprechend wurde das Magazinlayout von mir gezielt verfeinert, um es optimal auf das Zusammenspiel von großzügigen Fotostrecken und Typografie abzustimmen.
2022 was my second time in charge of the layout for the yearly magazine »Spiel und Bühne«. For some articles I had the chance to work with the photographers Asli Özdemir and China Hopson.
Accordingly, I deliberately refined the magazine layout to optimally harmonize the interplay between expansive photo spreads and typography.

Asli und China hatten verschiedene Theatergruppen in Deutschland besucht und zum Thema »Amateurtheater, Demokratie und Dialog« interviewt. Diese Reise haben sie sowohl fotografisch als auch textlich dokumentiert.
Zu Beginn des Projekts haben wir sehr eng zusammengearbeitet: Die beiden brachten bereits Favoriten bei der Bildauswahl und konkrete Layoutideen mit. Mir war es wichtig, so viele ihrer Wünsche und Vorstellungen wie möglich zu übernehmen. Gleichzeitig galt es, diese Entwürfe mit meiner handwerklichen Expertise im Editorial-Design zusammenzubringen.
Asli and China visited various theater groups in Germany and interviewed them on the topics of »amateur theater, democracy and dialogue«. They documented this journey both photographically and textually.
At the beginning of the project, we worked very closely together: the two of them already brought along their favorite image selections and concrete layout ideas. It was important to me to incorporate as many of their wishes and visions as possible. At the same time, the task was to integrate these concepts with my professional expertise in editorial design.

Mit dieser Ausgabe war es auch an der Zeit für mich, das alte Magazinlogo neu zu gestalten. 2021 wurde dies noch von Patricia Vester gezeichnet, aber das war nur für diese spezielle Ausgabe.
With this edition, it was also time for me to redesign the old magazin logo. In 2021 it was drawn by Patricia Vester, but that was just for this one issue.
